Desperately Seeking Opines

I am flirting with the idea of starting an Etsy shop. Just a very small one mind you. I would like to sell my prints - the linocuts I have made. Most images are editions of ten or twenty and I thought to sell them for $20. I am wondering what you think. Is that a good price? Or better - does anyone know someone running an Etsy shop and is there a trick to generating traffic for and thus sales of your product?

I have an etsy shop. I've never used it, but it's there for if/when I do my kooky scarves for realsies.

Other than that, I have bought stuff from etsy folks and there's stuff I'd like to buy from etsy folks.

It won't help, but here is at least one shop I like. http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=55220

I would buy your prints through etsy. I think other people would, too. Also, did you ever look at that 20x200 site?

Oh, also this is a photog whom I like (and I bought a couple of her prints, but not from etsy) http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=98785

I think you're on the money, haha, with your proposal. I think you should do it. What have you got to lose? Also, if you trot off in this multimedia (ie nests, 3d, etc) direction, etsy seems to be an ideal place for that sort of exploration.

I've toyed with the idea too (infact have an empty shop). But pricing (and postage and packaging) has always been a bit too involved for me to work out yet... and so it still sits in the backburner.

Maybe do a month and see how it goes?
